Social media is an extremely effective means of communication and when used appropriately can help to streamline and enhance interaction and contact both within the club as well as externally.

Unfortunately when used inappropriately, social media can have a negative rather than positive impact. The incorrect use of social media has the capacity to offend sponsors, players and other supporters of the club, including volunteers.

To this end the club has developed a Social Media Policy.

The purpose of the Social Media Policy is not to curb the flow of information to club members through social media. It is however meant to ensure that any offensive or distasteful content is not posted on social media and is avoided and dealt with accordingly should this occur.

Some of the key elements of the Social Media Policy are listed in summary below:

  1. Coverage – This policy will apply to all persons who are involved with the activities of Randwick Petersham Cricket Club, whether they are in a paid or unpaid/volunteer capacity.
  2. Scope – This policy will apply to conduct on all social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and public and private online forums and discussion boards.
  3. Guidelines – This policy will provide guidelines for the appropriate and reasonable use of social media. It is recommended you take the time to read the guidelines to minimise the risk of any breach of the policy and how to use social media to best promote our values of “TRUST / RESPECT / HUMILITY”.
  4. Breach – This policy will set out how to report a breach of the policy and the investigation process in relation to an alleged breach of the policy.
