13 – David Chardon (Petersham-Marrickville 1988)
David Chardon joined Petersham-Marrickville as a 14 year old in the 1967-68 season. He had the rare distinction to captain premiership teams in both the A W Green Shield and Poidevin Gray competitions. In 1968-69 the 15 years old red-haired right arm fast bowler made his debut in 1st Grade where he remained for the following 24 seasons taking 762 wickets while establishing himself throughout that period as one of Sydney Grade Cricket greatest fast bowlers. In 1975-76 he played Sheffield Shield cricket for NSW while his 69 1st Grade wickets in 1983-84 set a new record which remained the top mark throughout the lifetime of Petersham-Marrickville. In his twilight years Chardon played in the lower grades boosting his overall record to 1,124 wickets for the club by the time he retired at the end of 1994-95 after 29 seasons.
