17 – Graeme Hughes (Petersham-Marrickville 1991)
Graeme Hughes made the Petersham-Marrickville 1st Grade team when just 16 and two seasons later in 1974-75 scored his maiden 1st Grade century. That same season he was top scorer in the 1st Grade Final when the Pete’s defeated Manly to win the premiership. At age 20, Hughes was selected to play cricket for New South Wales. He had first represented New South Wales when he played rugby league against Queensland as a 19 year old. He is one of only six sportsmen to represent New South Wales at both cricket and rugby league. He retired at the end of 1992-93 having accumulated 6,216 1st Grade runs in a career spanning 23 years. He is a regular Master of Ceremonies at Randwick Petersham Cricket functions.
