11 – Lyall Gardner OAM (Randwick 1984)

Lyall Gardner joined Randwick in 1973-74 as an opening bowler in the First XI finishing his playing career in 1982 with 250 wickets in all five grades. In 1975 he became Hon. Secretary serving in that role and subsequently that of President for a period totalling 16 years. He also served on the NSW Cricket Board for 14 years as well as on many sub-committees of the NSW Cricket Association and Sydney Cricket Association during 16 years as a Delegate. In 1988 he was granted life membership of the NSW Cricket Association and in 2006 was awarded the Order of Australia for his service to cricket. He was involved in the administration of the Randwick and Petersham-Marrickville merger and had a leading role in the creation of the Randwick Petersham Cricket Foundation. He is currently Chairman of the Randwick Petersham Cricket Legends Society and is the club historian.
