16 – Ross Davies (Randwick 1989)

Ross Davies joined Randwick from Bathurst in 1965-66. He played for 24 years scoring 5,113 runs in all grades. He played 1st Grade in 1972-73 but was more at home in the lower grades excelling in the 3rd – 4th grade level where he regularly took out the season batting honours. A solid right-hand opening batsman, he was also a fine leader captaining many Randwick teams to positions in finals. Ross served on the Randwick Management Committee for 15 years and for 6 years held the position of Assistant Secretary. He maintained a close involvement with Randwick Petersham organising many functions and fund-raisers such as the Phil Tresidder Memorial Golf Day.
