15 – Trevor Jay (Randwick 1989)

Trevor Jay played in Randwick’s Shires team in 1966-67 while still a schoolboy. He graduated to 3rd Grade and in 1969-70 at age 18 made his 1st Grade debut. In 1972-73 he played for NSW Colts. He was a leading performer in Randwick winning four 1st Grade premierships between 1978 and 1982. Trevor served on the Randwick Management Committee for many years and between 1984 and 1990 was Assistant Secretary. In 30 seasons Trevor Jay took 854 wickets and scored 4,225 runs for the club. He was Randwick’s greatest 1st Grade wicket-taker and is the 13th highest in the history of Sydney 1st Grade with 679 wickets at an average of 20.65. He also scored 3,054 1st Grade runs. In 2002 he was made a Life Member of the Sydney Cricket Association.
