The role of Club Captain this season will be different than past years. We are very keen to keep communication channels open between the committee and players and as such Karl will become a point of communication to achieve this goal.
Karl will also join the RPC Leadership Group alongside Adam Semple, John McLoughlin, Rod Stafford, David Bourke and Luis Siddall.
The Leadership Group was established 4 years ago to facilitate the flow of information between the players and the Randy Petes Management Committee.
The Leadership Group works with Club administrators, officials & coaches to ensure we have consistent, effective & accurate communications.
The Leadership Group has no specific limits to its scope of influence, however its fundamental purposes are:
1. To be the voice of the playing group & make suggestions/recommendations to RPC Management Committee regarding training, playing matters, coaching, club social events, marketing opportunities & other relevant activities.
2. While it’s not a decision making authority the opinions of the Leadership Group are valued, respected & influential.
3. The Leadership Group should represent the views of ALL players, not specific player grievances or personal agendas, except in exceptional circumstances.
4. The Leadership Group rallies player participation & support for all club events & activities.
5. The Leadership Group supports players in respect to both playing & non-playing matters when appropriate.
6. The Leadership Group should be proactive in the development of player-based programs, for example Mentoring Programs.
7. At the request of RPC Management Committee, the Leadership Group can play a role in player disciplinary matters.
8. The Leadership Group is not intended to be a complaints box.it is an active force that sets the tone for all aspects of club culture & attitude at training, on game day & through all other club activities.
9. The Leadership Group should always be ready to assist as required at training, at events & in whatever ways it can.
10.The Leadership Group should meet from time to time to discuss matters of concern & where required refer these matters to RPC Management Committee for discussion/action.
