Star batsmean Alex Kemp has been named the captain of First grade for 2016/17 season.
Kemp takes the reins from veteran Adam Semple and is sure to try and bring some success to a very talented squad who didn’t quite live up to expectations last season.
“There are a lot of talented players in our squad but that won’t get is anywhere if we don’t work hard and work as a team” said Kemp.
A former Queensland Bulls player, Kemp will add the right mix of experience and skill that it takes to be a first grade captain, and he wants to build on some of his form from last year.
“Personally I’m hopting to build on the year I had last season,” Kemp said.
“I feel like I let a lot of starts go to waste and I’m hoping to capitalise on those this year.”
Kemp can often be found helping younger batsman hone their skills at U/21 Academy sessions and in his own free time, a testament to the dedication of the new captain of our prestigious First Grade side.
Good luck to Alex and the rest of the First Grade boys in the upcoming season.
