Around the Representative Traps

Daniel Sams returned to Randwick Petersham from New Zealand last weekend after Canterbury signed on controversial English all-rounder Ben Stokes as their overseas import. Sams made 241 runs and took 11 wickets in an impressive short stay for the south island first-class side. They were certainly more impressive numbers than Stokes managed in his first game – two runs and 0/49 off nine overs. Meantime, another Randy Petes star, Jason Sangha, is in Tasmania for the Under 19 National Championships which kicked off on Monday. Sangha is captaining the ACT/NSW Country team.
