Sangha to Lead Australia

Randwick Petersham’s Jason Sangha has been accorded the honour of captaining Australia at the Under 19 World Cup in New Zealand in January-February. The 18-year-old scored 133 against an England side boasting Test bowlers Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes for the Cricket Australia XI in a tour match last month. He later went to Tasmania for a successful campaign at the Australian Under 19 championships. Sangha’s vice-captain for the World Cup is paceman Will Sutherland, son of CA chief James Sutherland. The squad also includes Austin Waugh, son of former Australian Test skipper Steve Waugh. Australia will be coached by ex-Test paceman Ryan Harris, with former Test batsman Chris Rogers as his assistant.
