Series 7 – Outstanding Performances 2019-20
Series 7 of the 2019-20 Outstanding Performances celebrates the O’Reilly Medallist’s ton v NDs as well as a solid innings from Tom Holland in 3rd Grade. The Randy Petes also celebrate a series of wonderful bowling performances across the grades to rip through opposition batting line ups.

Outstanding Performance 35: In the Round 9 One Day clash at Coogee Oval 1st Grade chased over 300 against Northern District CC on a beautiful batting strip.
NDs won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first and the decision was justified as four batsman scored half centuries – the highest being Rodgie with 83. At the close of their 50 overs 7-312 had been posted.
In the chase William Affleck led from the front with 118 off 122 balls including 7 boundaries and 8 monstrous horns. Along with Daniel Bell-Drummond 59 and the skipper Jason Sangha 98* the target was passed for the loss of 4 wickets in 48.3 overs.
Outstanding Performance 36: Dane Coombs combined with his new ball partner Alex Deller (5-9) to dismiss the Ghosts for 58 in pursuit of 152.
In 8 devastating overs Coombsy ended with 4-25 and, alongside Deller, led the 5s in emphatic celebrations.
Outstanding Performance 37: At Bensons Lane in the penultimate round 5th Grade performed in a see-sawing match. The Randy Petes batted first scoring 160 with the Hawks passing the target for the loss of 5 wickets and declaring soon after. In the second innings the Randy Petes were put under pressure by tight bowling.
With a lead of 87 5s were determined to take the match to the wire and a fired up Ben Thomas was on song. In a quality 5 over spell Ben ended with 4-17 including the opener and number 3 for ducks to leave the Hawks flightless at 2-0. Not satisfied he also pulled off an outstanding run out late in the game with Hawkesbury finishing 8-58 when stumps were called after 15 overs.
Outstanding Performance 38: At Kensington Oval v Bankstown in Round 13 the Dogs took first use of the wicket and courtesy of their openers 127 piled on 8dec/257 in 80 overs.
The chase started slowly but a determined 55 from Tom Holland and support from Reuben Sachs 32 cemented the innings but tight bowling restricted the lower order with the last wicket falling at 136.
Outstanding Performance 39: At Mark Taylor Oval v Northern District in Round 9 2nd Grade compiled 7-257 from their 49 overs courtesy of 130 from Dylan Hunter.
In defence of 258 M. O’Loughlin and Radford took early wickets before Jacob Wood spun his magic through the middle order finishing with 4-39 off 8.4 overs to see the Rangers short by 33 runs.
Outstanding Performance 40: At Coogee Oval v St George in Round 3 of the Poidevin-Gray Shield, the skipper Jason Ralston led the boys from the front with the ball.
In defence of 204, courtesy of Luca Lopes’ 75 & Vivek Mahajan’s 44, Ralston ripped through the top order to finish with 5-25 from 8.2 overs and a comprehensive 132 run victory.
