Randwick Petersham’s Cricket4Community Program (C4C) has been a labour of love over the past 18 months. Over that time it has had many contributors and numerous elements that have gradually been refined to engage our playes and supporters in our community.

Randwick Petersham are proud to partner with NSW Ports to deliver this community spirit program empowering young players to engage in community outreach with the goal of positively impacting youth, elderly and disadvantaged community members across South Eastern Sydney and Sydney’s Inner West in conjunction with community groups including Windgap, Youth off the Streets, Red Cross, Camp Quality & Gotcha4Life.

C4C is the community outreach arm program of the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club. It aims to bring the club, players, administrators and supporters closer to the community and in turn bring the community closer to the club.

We believe that in order to develop our players fully as people, and to flourish as a Club, an effective community based program is essential to embed us into the community that we represent Through  this connection we will make our community proud of what we do and the contributions we make.

While our Club is about playing cricket, we also see this as an opportunity to help develop young players as they transition to adulthood, being able to take responsibility for their own actions and understand that some people’s lives are not as fortunate as their own.

Young people don’t always appreciate what they are capable of, but if we can provide some guidance and make it easy for them to help others, we will instil in them a sense of volunteering and giving back. Once we remove the barriers they will enjoy the experience and hopefully become life long givers.

As a Club our community is our future. The vast majority of our current players and administrators come from within our local community, so exposing young people to our club and what we stand for goes a long way toward us building our own future.

C4C is split into 3 parts:
1. Community Events
2. Junior Engagement
3. Charity Partners

At the end of the season one of our members will be awarded the prestigious Robin Gardner / Lyall Gardner OAM Community Spirit Award for their contribution to the program.
