I invite you to our home Coogee Oval to witness an exciting week of T20 cricket where our great friends from Cricket Ireland take on our 1st Grade side, the SCGXI and also a NSW XI.
On February 6, 2015 Randwick Petersham hosted Cricket Ireland in a 50 over match rounding out a highly successful New Balance Community Cricket Week. It was an exciting and high-scoring match with Randwick Petersham victorious but more importantly a strong partnership between both entities was forged and since 2015-16 5 Irish cricketers have represented the Randy Petes.
In October 2022, Cricket Ireland’s World T20 squad will return to the picturesque seaside Coogee Oval for a three-match warm up series to acclimatise for the Men’s T20 World Cup.
October 4 at 1pm v Randwick Petersham
October 5 at 1pm v SCG XI
October 7 at 1pm v NSW XI
So put the dates in your diary. Bring your family and friends.
I can’t wait to see you there!!!

MEDIA RELEASE Cricket Ireland:
Ireland will be led by Andrew Balbirnie (RPCC 1st Grade cap #107) who represented the Randy Petes in 2016-17 and will be joined by other former scholarship holders Barry McCarthy (RPCC 1st Grade cap #103), Harry Tector and Stephen Doheny. Their friends at the Club look forward to welcoming them “home” as well as a favourite son, 1st Grade captain and 1st Grade capped player #50 Nathan Hauritz now Ireland’s spin bowling coach.
Also in the team is the devastating opener Paul Stirling who’ll enjoying peppering the small Coogee boundaries, the exciting all round prospect Mark Adair and the experience of Andy McBrine, George Dockrell and Craig Young.
Apart from the matches the week will include Community Activations under the Club’s Cricket4Community program proudly supported by NSW Ports including junior coaching clinics, a visit to the Sydney Children’s Hospital and hosting charitable and community groups at the matches.
The week provides a great opportunity for international sport to return to the City of Randwick and Coogee Oval is no stranger to hosting international teams – in 1988 the world-renowned Randwick Rugby Club hosted the All Blacks and in 2019 Argentina and will give locals the opportunity to witness top level cricket up close and personal.
This week has been made possible by the following partners and we thank them for their support. Many thanks to Lefand Australia, Mellick Wealth Management, The Lansdowne Club Australia, O’Neills Sportswear Australasia, GABBA Sports, Cricket NSW, Waterford Crystal, Petersham RSL, Hydralyte, Mike Whitney Promotions and Temple Bay Coogee.
